Arlene Jewell Cooper, 86, of Ringos Mills Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg. Born May 20, 1929, in Sharkey, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Ona Kissick Cooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lodema 'Deanie' Cooper. She is survived by one brother, Sonny Cooper and wife Wanda of Mt. Sterling; one niece, Annette Maze and husband Tim; one great niece, Erica Robinson and husband Jonathan; two great nephews, Tyler Lee and Hunter Dailey, all of Hillsboro. Arlene was an inspector at U.S. Shoe in Flemingsburg for several years. A lifelong quilter, Arlene's beautiful handmade quilts are treasured by people around the world. She was of the Baptist faith. 'Neen-Neen,' as she was lovingly called, will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Engle officiating. Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey. Pallbearers: Allen Hicks, Rodney Hicks, Bud Cox, Ralph Cox. J. T. Rawlings, Buddy Stone, and Dick Adams. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
