Ardith Ray Crose, age 69, of Arrowsmith, Illinois, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011, at his daughter-s home. He was born September 22, 1942, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Melvin Ardith and Sarah Stevens Crose. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris June LaFever Crose, on March 16, 1992, and one son, Ardith Gustave Crose, on July 14, 1970. Ardith is survived by two children, Rose -Sissy- Moberly and husband Bill of Arrowsmith, Illinois, and Rickey Crose of Bloomington, Illinois, and their mother, Shirley -Happy- Woellms of Bloomington, Illinois, and one granddaughter, Tanya Powell of Arrowsmith, Illinois. Also surviving are two sisters, Agnes Martin of Carter County, Kentucky, and Mary Forrest of Kingman, Indiana; one brother, Dannie Crose and wife Ramona of Kingman, Indiana; four step children, Schenell Pfister, Lonnie Scheel, and Jerow Scheel, all of Bloomington, Illinois, and Steve Scheel and wife Tammy of Missouri; nine step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Ardith was a self-employed mechanic and roofer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, shooting pool, and spending time with his family. Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2011, at Crix Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
