Anna Lee Thomas Skeens, age 83, of Bluestone Road, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 30, 2020, at her home.
Born December 3, 1936, in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Barsha "Bossie" Taylor Thomas. Her siblings, Paul Thomas, Glenn Thomas, and Ella Frances Thomas Stivers preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death on March 22, 2012, by her husband of 59 years, Elden Stirl Skeens, whom she married February 12, 1953, a six-month-old daughter, Phyllis Skeens, in 1955; and a son, Gregory Skeens, in 2018.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Skeens of Morehead; two sons, Warner Skeens (Jami) of Morehead and Johnny Skeens (Nancy) of Virginia; 6 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Faye Thomas of Dayton, Ohio.
Other survivors include nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Anna Lee was a homemaker who loved to read, garden and watch television. She was a Christian, a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Morehead since December 21, 1958, and a former Sunday school teacher and choir member. On August 9, 2015, she was recognized as the longest serving member of the church. She was devoted to her family and loved her "Baby Girl Linda."
Private funeral services will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with with Pastor Joey Damron and Dr. Jim Scott Orrick officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed beginning at 3:00 p.m. Sunday on the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page. Private burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: James Little, Griffin Little, Jeff Skeens, Kadyn Skeens, Cody Lewis, Marvin Moore, and Mike Thomas, Jr.
COVID-19 mandates as set forth by the Governor will be observed.
