Obituary

Anna Ruth Sergent Ellington, age 76, of Clearfield Hill, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born December 28, 1932, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late William Green Sergent and Anna May Sargent Sergent. Her husband, Chester E. Ellington, preceded her in death on January 5, 2001, and a son, Jeffrey Wade Ellington, on November 25, 2007. Mrs. Ellington is survived by one son, David Blaine Ellington and his wife Stella of Morehead, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Melissa Sparks and husband Byron and James K-Len Ellington; one great granddaughter, Madison Sparks; and two sisters, Alta Sergent of Morehead, Kentucky, and Hazel Frank of Urbana, Illinois. Mrs. Ellington was an inspector at Cowden Manufacturing Co. for 32 years, a homemaker, and member of Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Max Molihan and the Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellington Cemetery on Bluebank Road. Pallbearers will be Pete Hamm, Dale Carpenter, J. C. Jolley, Charlie Henderson, Gene Hamm, Cecil Trent and Ted Trent. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Monday, February 2, 2009, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at 1 p.m. Interment: Ellington Cemetery
