Amy Jessica McClain, age 28, of Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky, after an extended illness. Born March 17, 1983, in Marion, Indiana, she is the daughter of Robert B. -Bob- McClain of Morehead, Kentucky, and the late Rebecca Baird McClain. She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Luther Orville McClain. In addition to her father, she is survived by her fianc-, Shawn Kevin Drew of Morehead, Kentucky; three brothers, Benjamin Robert McClain, Robert Ben McClain, and Austin Blake McClain, all of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters, April Dawn Stidham of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Meghan Kate McClain of Morehead, Kentucky; paternal grandmother, Alice Mae McClain of Morehead, Kentucky; maternal grandparents, Leslie Alice Deason and husband Isaac of Marion, Indiana, and Glenn Baird and wife Joan of Lincolnville, Indiana; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; one special niece, Amalie McClain; and one special cousin, Emily Wright. Amy was a 2001 graduate of Blackford High School in Hartford City, Indiana, and was a self-employed freelance writer. She enjoyed the outdoors, shoe shopping and painting. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother David Starcher officiating. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
