Obituary

America Reeves Norris Egan, age 53, of Parkers Mill Way, Somerset, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at her residence. Born March 6, 1963, in Flemingsburg, she was a daughter of the late Mayo Calvert Norris and Abbie America Reeves Norris. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Norris and Ruby Beers, and one brother, James Calvert Norris. Peb, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, is survived by her beloved son, Adam Michael Egan of Somerset; three sisters, Lynda Donathan (Randy) and Lucy Williams (Ricky Joe), all of Morehead, and Brenda Leyendecker of Lexington; two brothers, Bill Norris (Alice) of Mt. Sterling and Allen Norris (Carol) of Topping, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Peb graduated from Rowan County High School and attended the University of Kentucky. A former administrative assistant at U.K. for 14 years, she was a self-employed consultant and medical transcriptionist. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending family time with her siblings, nieces and nephews. She was of the Church of God faith. Always a loving and devoted mother, Peb's highest priority and greatest joy was her son Adam-'her 'Doodle Bug,' whom she loved wholeheartedly and unconditionally. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers: Randy Donathan, Ricky Joe Williams, Kirby Johnson, Richard Engle, Rickey Lewis, Charles Curtis, Allen (Styx) Hicks, Rodney Hicks.
