Alma Irene Hamilton Crawford, age 80, of Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. She was born February 15, 1933, in Fleming County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ethel Mae Routt Hamilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Lee Allen Crawford in 2000; five brothers, Howard, James, Elmer, Dudley, and Kirby Hamilton; and four sisters, Elizabeth Taylor, Dora Lee Hamilton, Mildred Meadows, and Effie Baker. Mrs. Crawford is survived by her husband of 63 years, Marion Markwell Crawford, whom she married June 29, 1950; one son, Larry Crawford of Springfield, Ohio; two brothers, Earl Hamilton of Hillsboro, Kentucky, and Freddy Hamilton of Midway, Ohio; three grandchildren, Janet Lee Wigginton, Dabney Crawford, and Paige Crawford; and two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Brinley Wigginton. Mrs. Crawford was a homemaker, former clerk at the Hillsboro Post Office, and nurse's aide at the Fleming County Hospital. She was a member of the Grange City Christian Church and enjoyed working in her garden and flowers. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Engle and the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Johnson, Wayne Lewis, Herbert Jolly, Mike Savey, Chubby Curtis, and Paul Barber.
