Alice Mae Fogleman McClain, age 95, of Hill-N-Dale, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Born December 4, 1916, in Veedersburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Edgar and Dora Florence McCalument Fogleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther McClain; two daughters, Mary Emogene McClain and Anna McClain Stamper; four grandchildren, Amy McClain, Wendell Maston Thomas, Angie McClain Kline, and John David Scott; three brothers, Joe, Lloyd and Monroe Fogleman; and three sisters, Dorothy Helphenstine, Ethel Saunders, and Thelma Snapp. Mrs. McClain is survived by seven daughters, Lavena Scott and Faye Skeens, both of Clearfield, Kentucky, Louise Fraley and Vern, Wanda Carter and Harlan (P.Joe), Katie May and Gardner, Esther McClain, and Emily (Nina) Thomas and William, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and five sons, David (Bud) McClain and Carolyn, Clarence (Crickett) McClain, Tom McClain and Liz, Bobby McClain and Tina, and Paul McClain and Sue, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, John (J. D.) Fogleman and Bobbie of Steinhatchee, Florida; and one sister, Beulah Little of Flemingsburg, Kentucky. Other survivors include 50 grandchildren; 84 great grandchildren; 51 great-great grandchildren; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; other devoted relatives and special family friends, including Valarie Mayse. Mrs. McClain was always a hardworking and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who received the greatest joy from her family. She enjoyed cooking for the family and often had family get-togethers. She also loved gardening, flowers, and making quilts, especially for her children and grandchildren. She faithfully read the Bible every day and attended church as long as possible. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Goddard Cemetery in Fleming County, Kentucky. Mrs. McClain-s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Tuesday, March 27, 2012, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment: Goddard Cemetery, Fleming County, KY
