Alan and Nancy Maggard met in the hills of Letcher County, KY.  She noticed he liked coffee, so one day she invited him to her room for a cup of coffee, and that's all it took.  She had fallen in love.  She had his heart in the palm of her hand—now she's got him in her heart the rest of her life. . . .

Alan took his bride to the altar to make it official on July 26, 2011, until he departed this lifetime.

Alan enjoyed sitting outside with his coffee and cigarettes and his K-9 Sarah.  He enjoyed watching it rain and listening to Sunday Bluegrass. Alan was thankful for all the friends that came across his path and new friends that have made his life more enjoyable.

On behalf of Alan and me, we want to give special thanks to all the staff from St. Claire Hospice that made Alan's end of life most comfortable and special to his next journey.

At Alan's request, there will be no visitation or funeral.  If anyone wishes to donate in Alan's memory, you can do so at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals or St. Claire Hospice.
