Obituary

Addie Mae Keenan Fannin, age 99, of Morehead, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

She was born November 4, 1924, in Cedar Grove, West Virginia, and was the daughter of the late William M. Keenan and Vena Butler Keenan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tollie Curtis Fannin; one daughter, Judy Thompson; one son, Jim Bill Fannin; one granddaughter, Leigh Thompson Williams; one brother, Edward Keenan; and two sisters, Evelyn K. Keener and Erma Jean Knapp.

She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Trent and husband Robert of Morehead; two grandchildren, Lisa Thompson Knipp (Billy) and David Keenan Trent (Amy); three great grandchildren, Alex Williams, Tori Thomas, and Kari Knipp; and one great-great granddaughter, Anna Lee Thomas.

Addie was a homemaker and a retired manager for Cowden's Manufacturing Outlet in Morehead. She was active with the Gateway Community Board for Seniors, Rowan County Senior Citizens Center, and the development of Morehead/Rowan County Christmas dinners.

She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. Addie also enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Citizens Center, reading, cooking, watching U.K. basketball and Indy car racing. Addie will be long remembered and greatly missed.

At her request, there will be no visitation or service.
