Roger Kidd

Roger Kidd, age 68, of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at his home.

Born October 2, 1950, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Luke and Hazel Black Kidd. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers, Clyde Kidd, Vernon Kidd, Estill Kidd, Gene Kidd, Emerson Kidd, Claude Kidd, Ellis Kidd, Clayton Goodman, and William Goodman, and one sister, Juanita Slusher.

Roger is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Kathy Gulley Kidd, whom he married August 14, 1970; one son, Roger Wade Kidd (and Darlene Sexton) of West Liberty; one daughter, Alisha J. Moore (and Rob Jones) of Morehead; and three grandsons, Cole Moore, Cameron Moore, and Casey Moore.

Also surviving are three sisters, Jewell Swartz of Morehead, Della Johnson of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Marie Dehart of Elliott County, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Roger retired from Morehead State University in 2004 as a custodian, was a farmer, and operated Kidd's Mowing Service. He enjoyed gardening, training his hunting dogs, squirrel, rabbit and coon hunting, and riding horses. He also loved spending time with family, especially his grandsons, and was a member of Rock Fork Christian Church. He will be sadly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Butch Kelsey officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Cole Moore, Cameron Moore, Tim Boyd, Gordon Johnson, Robert Jones, and Mitchell Burton.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
