Matthew Paul Applegate

Matthew Paul Applegate, age 44, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends on September 2, 2019.

Matt is survived by his wife, Angela Applegate; his sons, Bekhym Applegate of Canal Winchester, OH, Dakota Applegate of Ewing, KY, and daughter, Sabrina York of Asheville, NC; his parents; Ronald and Ramona Applegate of Mansfield, OH; his brother, Andrew Applegate and wife Debra Applegate of Chicago, IL; his closest friend, Richard (Tom) Knowlton and wife, Natalie Knowlton of Ashland, OH, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Paul and Wilma Strickling and Clarence and Anne Applegate.

Matt lived with multiple sclerosis from the time he was twenty years of age. In spite of this, he was employed for 10 years as a corrections officer for the State of Ohio. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed quality time with his family and friends. Above all, Matt knew how to love with his whole heart!

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Mansfield, OH.
