Jack Fields Holley, Sr., 92, of Knapp Avenue, Morehead, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, at his home.
Born February 27, 1926, in Olive Hill, he was the son of the late John D. and Lottie Fields Holley. His brother, John D. Holley, and sister, Eloise Kegley, also preceded him in death.
Jack's loving wife of 65 years, Lois Anne Carter Holley, whom he wed June 17, 1949, passed away February 22, 2015.
He is survived by three children: Teresa Lynn Granick (Rick) of Cincinnati, Jack Holley, Jr. (Jodi) of Morehead and John William "Skip" Holley (Rhonda) also of Morehead; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Other survivors include extended family, dear friends, and special caregivers, Linda McKinney, Darlene Sexton, Debbie Goodman, Judy Layne, and Belinda Adams.
Jack served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and graduated from Morehead State University. He was employed as an engineer with Tennessee Gas until retirement and consulted with other gas companies around the world. He was a gifted athlete, loving husband and father, and a doting grandfather and great-grandfather. He was beloved by neighbors, colleagues, and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Jimmy Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery with full military honors presented by Morehead American Legion Post 126.
Pallbearers: Joe Carter, Matt Holley, Randy Eldridge, Randy Barker, Skip Vencill, and C. G. Clayton. Honorary pallbearers: Joe Gronotte, Wayne Carter, Jack Carter, Roger Carter, Dan Hyden, Carmack Kersey, Ken Pruitt, and Mitch Jones.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351
