Gary Wayne Stevens, age 75, of US 60 East, Morehead, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation in Stanford, Kentucky.
Born July 22, 1944, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Thomas and Nora Sparkman Stevens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margie Byerly; two brothers, Robert Stevens and Thomas Stevens, Jr., and one granddaughter, Ruth Lynn Osborne.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Helen Wright Stevens; two daughters, Angie Gillespie and Leigh Ann Adams, both of Morehead; three sons, Wayne Stevens (Christin Cook) of Lexington, Chad Osborne of Idaho, and Kenneth Stevens of Florida; and nine grandchildren, Noah, Ethan, Autumn, Caleb, Aubrey, Gracie, Erica, Madison, and Gracie Jo.
Gary was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Ray Glover and Brother Larry Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the Fultz Cemetery in Carter County with full military honors presented by Corbie Ellington Morehead American Legion Post 126.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
