Estill Harris, age 86, of Elliott County, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, at Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born September 26, 1932, in Gimlet, Elliott County, and was a son of the late Claude and Barbara Leadingham Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Tracy Don Harris; three brothers, Delmas Harris, Claude “Spig” Harris, and Paul Harris; and one sister, Kolene Porter.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maxine Ruth Rose Harris, whom he married December 2, 1967; two sons, Tim Harris and wife Angie and Tony Harris, all of Elliott County; two brothers, Louie Harris and Darrell Harris, both of Salt Lick; five sisters, Linda Cebula and Audrey Porter, both of Salt Lick, Glenna Caudill Copher of Owingsville, Gail Lemasters and Wanda Barker, both of Olive Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a former truck driver for Gibson Greeting in Olive Hill, a strip miner for Addington Coal, and a lifelong farmer. Estill enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and taking care of his farm and cattle.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Louie Harris and Pastor Victor Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery on P. Sparks Road, Olive Hill, KY, in Elliott County.
Pallbearers: Rocky Porter, Herman Conn, Jeffrey Mabry, Shawn Mabry, Glendon Harris, Matt Harris, and Jonathan Harris.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
