Dorothy June Robinson Peyton, age 91, a former resident of Owingsville, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Morehead.
Born September 24, 1928, in Moorefield, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Ella Mae Pettit Robinson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Donald Peyton on February 2, 2005; one infant daughter, Rebecca Peyton in 1946; one granddaughter, Ashley Morgan Kemplin in 2018; two sisters, Josephine Penix, and Ethel Hobbs; and three brothers, Oscar, Emmitt, and Irvin Robinson.
She is survived by five daughters: Sharon Peyton of Aurora, Missouri, Linda Looney of West Liberty, Patty Stewart of Morehead, Nina McMahan (Rodney) of Mount Sterling, and Donna Yenger of Owingsville; two sons, Paul Peyton (Frances) of Norwood, North Carolina, and Donnie Peyton (Joyce) of Peachland, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Other survivors include one sister, Betty Jones of Bethel, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising a garden, cooking, cleaning, and keeping her house spotless. She volunteered at Bath County Elementary School, reading to students and acting as a grandmother to them. Dorothy was a member of the Grace Gospel Tabernacle Church in Sharpsburg. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Peyton officiating. Burial will follow in the Kellacey Cemetery in Morgan County.
Pallbearers: Tristan Kemplin, Blake Whitt, Brandon Green, Kevin Johnson, Billy Kemplin and Rodney McMahan.
Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
