Danny Dale Griggs

Danny Dale Griggs, age 64, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born January 29, 1955, in, he was a son of the late Lerain and Betty Lou Yarber Griggs. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Louise Adkins, who passed away June 17, 2013; one sister, Tammy Griggs; one brother, Jerry Griggs; one granddaughter, Olivia Griggs; one daughter-in-law, Samantha Nicole Arnold Griggs; one sister-in-law, Teresa Griggs; and one brother-in-law, Tom Hostrander.

Danny is survived by one son, Anthony Dale "Tony" Griggs of Morehead; two daughters, Tammie Mae Griggs of Hazard and Laura Griggs Davis and husband Justin of Clearfield; two brothers, Billy Griggs and wife Regina of Olive Hill and Terry Dean Griggs of Olympia; four sisters, Debbie Curtis and husband Ed of Morehead, Susan Price and husband Nick of Wellington, Rita Curtis and husband Jerry, and Patty Hostrander, all of Olympia; and four grandchildren, Hunter Wallace and Trinity, Gabriel, and Payton Davis. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Danny was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War era, and a retired Morehead State University bus driver. He was a former assistant coach for the Rowan County Peewee Football team and was an avid Bingo player and U.K. basketball fan.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., and the Rev. Elijah Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Griggs Cemetery, Hwy. 36, Olympia, with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126.

Pallbearers: Billy, Tony, Terry and Jerry Griggs; Jason and Ed Curtis; Nick Price and Justin Davis.

Visitation is 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday 13, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
