Claude Denver Lykins, age 84, of Hwy. 36, Olympia, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, at U.K. HealthCare in Lexington.
Born July 20, 1935, at Blairs Mill, in Morgan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Will Tom Lykins and Parthina Weddington Lykins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Lynn Lykins; two brothers, Billy Lykins and Douglas Lykins; and three sisters, Etta Mae Easterling, Maggie Faye Collins, and Betty Sue Goodan.
Claude is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna Jennings Lykins, whom he wed November 7, 1959; one daughter, Dedra Lykins Buckler of Olympia; one son, Jeffrey Lykins of Salt Lick; three grandchildren, Natasha Buckler, Tiffany D’Abate, Destiny Mugridge; and one great granddaughter, Alayna D’Abate.
Other survivors include one brother, David Lykins of Carter County; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Claude retired from Sealmaster and enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting, and going to flea markets. He loved his family and the Tarr Ridge Union Church family in Menifee County. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Allen Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Harr-Skaggs Cemetery on Poplar Grove Road.
Pallbearers: Alan Watts, Darren Goodan, Alex Mugridge, Dudley Lykins, Chris Lykins, and Jeffrey Lykins.
