Clarence Milford Barnett, Jr., age 63, of Limousine Lane, Morehead, formerly of Flatwoods, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at his home after a long battle with MS surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 14, 1955, he is the son of Oletta Hall Barnett of Flat Rock, Michigan, and the late Clarence Milford Barnett.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Southworth Barnett; two sons, Christopher Barnett and Michael (Goldie) Barnett, all of Lexington; and one brother, Joe (Robyn) Barnett of Rockwood, Michigan. A brother, Jeff Barnett, preceded him in death.
JR served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1974-76. He was a retired railroad engineer having worked 29 ½ years for CSX, as well as a long-term member and past local chapter president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers (B.L.E.). JR’s passion was his family and tinkering with his Jeep.
Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Raceland. A celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. with Charles Blevins officiating. Interment will be at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup County.
