Billy Joe Dehart, age 60, of Seas Branch Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019, at his residence.
Born April 4, 1959, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Cledith Edward Dehart and Vangelene Sloan Dehart.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeanie Johnson Dehart, whom he married December 22, 1980; one daughter, Shay Dehart at home; two sisters, Kathy Pelfrey of Clearfield and Della Porter of Elliottville; as well as Chris Porter of Elliottville, who was like a son, and Sheila Hamilton of Elliottville, who was like a sister; and a host of nieces and nephews and special friends.
Billy was a construction worker for many years. He was a former employee for Superior Concrete, the City of Olive Hill public works department, and Riley Construction Company. When his health permitted, he enjoyed hunting and working on cars and trucks. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Lonnie Conn and Bro. Darrell Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in Sloan Cemetery, Brinegar Road, in Carter County.
Pallbearers: Nick Lawson, Zach Lawson, Jack Dillon, Dean Dillon, Bob Dehart, Dakota Frederick, Ryan Calvert, and Donald Porter.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
