It is with immense love that we celebrate the passing of Wilma Jean (Moore) Tackett, of Mt. Sterling, KY, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who was called to her eternal home on February 14, 2024, at the age of 89, 3 days shy of her 90th Birthday.
Wilma's remarkable journey began on February 17, 1934, born to James C. and Eleanore (Easterling) Moore in Blairs Mill, Morgan County, Kentucky and grew to touch the hearts and lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in her journey to the Lord by her beloved husband, Billy Ewing Tackett, and one adored daughter, Melissa Chaney-Tackett.
Wilma's legacy of love and devotion lives on through her children: Greg Tackett and daughter-in-law Kathy (Langenhorst) Tackett, Farmersville, OH, Jeff Tackett of Dayton, OH and Robbie Tackett and daughter-in-law Melissa (Haddix) Tackett of Mt. Sterling, KY. Her love further blossoms in the lives of her 4 grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma was a part of a loving family, including her 3 siblings: Diana Robbins and brother-in-law Bill of Flat Rock, MI; deceased sister, Virginia Tackett and a deceased brother, Gordon Moore.
Wilma’s departure from this world leaves a void that cannot be filled; but, her spirit, teachings and love will remain with us. As we say “we will see you in a little while” to this extraordinary woman, we also rejoice in knowing that she has found her everlasting peace and joy in the arms of her Savior.
Please join the family on Sunday, February 18, 2024, to share your loving memories of Wilma and to say a fond farewell to her. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
