Scott Andrew Ledford

Scott Andrew Ledford, 88, of KY Hwy 519, Morehead, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born December 14, 1935, in Shooting Creek, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Herman and Carrie Moffitt Ledford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Judy Hampton Ledford on January 19, 2022; one son, Donald Clay Ledford on August 7, 2017; and one brother, Morris Ledford on January 2, 1984.

He is survived by a son, Darrell Ledford and wife Rhonda of Morehead; a grandson, Kyle Ledford and wife Stephanie of Morehead; a granddaughter, McKayla Ginter and husband Jacob of Berea; two great grandsons, Kooper Ledford and Conor Ledford; a brother, Harold Ledford and wife Bonita of Huntsville, Alabama; and all of his special caregivers that were like family. He also leaves behind extended family and many friends.

Scott retired in 1995 from Ledford’s Grocery, where he enjoyed making friends and touched many lives. He loved visits from his great grandsons, going cruising and to car shows in his 55 Ford with Gary Thompson and stopping at roadside sales. Scott brought great joy to many and will be greatly missed. 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Darrell Ledford, Kyle Ledford, Jacob Ginter, Perry Ray Lewis, Larry Hampton, and Jimmy Hampton.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
