Sandra J. "Sandy" (Fugett) Ferguson

Sandra J. “Sandy” Fugett Ferguson, age 70, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Born April 13, 1953, in West Liberty, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Norman E. and Cassie C. Watkins Fugett.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Anne Callihan.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Barry K. Ferguson, whom she married July 11, 1970; two devoted sons: Brent Ferguson (Stephanie) of Stamping Ground, Kentucky, and Richard “Richie” Ferguson (Kimberly) of Beaver, Ohio; five precious grandchildren: Caleb Bennett Ferguson, Hayden Nathanael Ferguson, Drake Elliott Ferguson, Anna Grace Ferguson, and Rachel Elizabeth Ferguson; and three cherished great grandchildren:  Ellie Jane Ferguson, Kyson Scott Ferguson, and Gracelynn Mae Hughes.

Other survivors include two brothers: William D. Fugett (Pauline) of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Dwayne P. Fugett (Janice) of Washington Court House, Ohio, and one sister, Norma Jean Adams (Lawrence) of New Carlisle, Ohio, as well as extended family and friends. 

Sandy was a retired registered nurse who enjoyed this role for more than a decade. She loved her family unconditionally and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed. 

Private services will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals (400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351) with the Rev. Jim McKenzie officiating.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Fugett, Tim Adams, William Fugett, Ben Ferguson, Hayden Ferguson and Drake Ferguson.
