Mary Lawson Farr, age 82, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville.
Born October 12, 1941, in Olive Hill, she was the daughter of the late James “Buck” Lawson and Nannie Callihan Lawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Dennis “Pod” Lawson, Everett “Babe” Lawson, Johnny Lawson, and infant Jackie Lawson.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Regina Thompson and husband Patrick; a very special granddaughter, Riley Thompson, all of Morehead; three brothers, James Lawson, Phillip Lawson, and Tommy Lawson, all of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Mary was one of the first women to work at Hitchens Brick Yard in Olive Hill. She was the owner Gina’s Pizza in Olive Hill and Morehead for many years. After retiring in 2002, she devoted much of her time caring for her granddaughter.
She loved gardening, drawing, painting, cooking and baking for her family and friends, and working around her home. Mary was willing to help anyone anytime. She will be remembered with love and sadly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow at Dean Cemetery in Globe.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
