Marion Markwell Crawford, age 95, of Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg.
He was born February 11, 1929, in Fleming County, and was the son of the late Leslie Crawford and Ethel Markwell Crawford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Alma Irene Hamilton Crawford on July 8, 2013; one son, Lee Allen Crawford in 2000; one sister, Verlyn James; one brother, Eston Crawford; and one great grandson, Jesse Wigginton.
Marion is survived by a son, Larry Crawford of Ohio; three granddaughters, Janet Lee Wigginton, Dabney Crawford Hart, and Paige Crawford; three great grandchildren, Aubrey and Brinley Wigginton, and Hayes Hart; and other extended family and friends.
Marion was a lifelong farmer and loved woodworking and was especially talented in making furniture and musical instruments. He attended the Grange City Christian Church and enjoyed attending church and church activities. Marion was an amazing storyteller and love the outdoors, painting, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered with love and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Engle officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
