Joca Faye Blevins Slone, age 83, of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Pioneer Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Flemingsburg.
She was born May 5, 1940, in Rowan County, and was a daughter of the late “W.O.” Blevins and Lela Tackett Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fonza Slone on September 8, 2005; seven siblings and their spouses, Jimmy (Marietta) Blevins, Nellie (Martin) Poston, Ruby (Jack) Boone, Cecil (Charlene) Blevins, Arnie (Elizabeth) Blevins, Ira (Nancy) Blevins, Lee (Francis) Blevins, and Bill (Silvey) Blevins; two infant brothers; a sister-in-law, Sandy Blevins; and a stepdaughter, Pauline Kiser.
Joca is survived by one brother, Albert Blevins of Augusta; one sister, Lillie (Glenn) Jones of Dover; five stepchildren; Glennis (Delma) Slone, Gladys Runyon, Della Buckler, Ivan Slone, and Mille (Donnie) Withrow; a special nieces, Brenda and Vicki; a host of step grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
She was a homemaker and devout Christian. Joca was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church, gardening, and especially spending time with family. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Noel Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Frank Blevins, Wayne Blevins, Chris Jones, Darrin Blevins, Tandy Jones, and Colten Jones.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
