Harold Bruce Fawns, age 86, of Lower Rock Lick Road, Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Perkins Country Manor in Augusta.
Born February 22, 1938, in Grange City, he was the son of the late Ora and Christine Pickrell Fawns. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Fawns; two sisters, Janice Louise Fawns Jolly and Bonnie Fawns Burriss; and several stepchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolly Link Fawns, whom he married August 6, 1978; two daughters, Melissa “Lisa” Gardner of Ewing and Frances Riddle of Owingsville; and several step grandchildren.
Other survivors include one brother, Donnie “Hot Shot” (Sharon) Fawns of Hillsboro; three sisters, Dixie Craft of Morehead, Pat Dailey of Flemingsburg, and Rachel Williams of Maysville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Bruce was a life-long farmer and could be best described as a "hard working man" who sacrificed everything to provide for his family. He loved watching WLJC, the Christian television station and spending time with family. Bruce will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services will be conducted 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Randy Hawkins and Pastor Willie Skaggs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tracey Riddle, Andrew Gardner, Darren Fawns, Bo Crawford, Billy Wayne Crawford, and Ricky Crawford II. Honorary pallbearers will be Elijah Gardner, Phillip Riddle, Marion Jolly, Terry Riddle, and Gary Riddle.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
