Harold R. Collins, age 96, of Clearfield, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital in Livonia, Michigan.
Born August 25, 1927, in Clearfield, Harold was the son of the late Ted and Lela Mae Lane Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Collins and Zane Collins; one daughter, Valetta Kay Collins; one granddaughter, Deanna Erving; and his devoted wife of 65 years, Wilma Maxine Black Collins, who passed away January 2, 2010.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Gagnon of Westland, Michigan; one grandson, Jason Gagnon, of Huntsville, Alabama; one great granddaughter, Amanda Jorgensen; one great grandson, Shane Jorgensen; and one great-great granddaughter, Lennix Garthe, as well as extended family and many friends.
Harold spent most of his employment as an equipment operator with various construction companies. He retired from the Shaker Coal Company and was a former employee of Curt Caudill Construction Company and Jewett Construction Company, as well as Stanley Auto Parts and the State Highway Department.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, spending winters in Florida with Maxine, and visiting with family and friends. Harold attended the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God for more than 56 years. His memory will forever live on in the countless lives he touched and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Cecil Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Jack Carter, Danny Reynolds, Jeff Logan, Dale Carpenter, Charley Stamm, Charley Henderson, and T. J. Jolley. Honorary Pallbearers: Charley McIntosh, David Dillon, Pete Hamm, Randy Barker, and Raymond Conn.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2924, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
