Elizabeth Noyes Pack, age 50, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at her home in Oak Ridge, TN after a long battle with cancer. Elizabeth was born May 29, 1973, in San Francisco, CA to the late Philip and Eveline Noyes.
Elizabeth was an avid knitter and made beautiful sweaters and socks for her loved ones. She enjoyed reading and, when she could no longer read, enjoyed listening to her neighbor Elane read to her. Elizabeth was an excellent cook; her pita and hummus will be missed. She was fascinated with lettering, graphic design, and fountain pens and would spend hours in a pen shop in Houston between medical appointments. When she got married, she designed and printed her own wedding invitations by hand. She studied multimedia communications in college and used those skills at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church as well as the American Cathedral in Paris, crafting communications, advertising events, fundraising, and creating the weekly bulletins for worship services. Elizabeth loved working at St. Stephen’s as the Parish Secretary and dreamed of having the longest tenure of any secretary there previously. She was fluent in Italian and French and learned Catalan in a week while visiting Barcelona, including several colorful phrases at a football match. She successfully argued a legal case in French.
And she raised a wonderful son.
Elizabeth is survived by her son Philip Arnold Pack, husband James Arnold Pack, sister Katherine Marie Noyes Lopez, and a large and loving extended family.
Visitation will be at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351
