Byrl Howard Russell, age 80, of Bearskin Hollow, Morehead, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born December 27, 1943, in Wolfe County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John Clarence and Anna Whisman Russell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Russell, and six siblings, Lee Russell, Agnes Conley, Elbert Russell, John Russell, Bobby Russell, and Lawrence Russell.
Byrl is survived by his wife, Debbie Gearhart Russell; four children, William Byrl Russell, Leanna Russell, Lisa Evans (Huey), and Wade Clevenger (Amy); one brother, E. M. Russell; one sister, Irene Pelfrey; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Byrl was a former construction worker, pipe liner, factory worker, and “jack of all trades.” He was a member of Morehead American Legion Post 126 and enjoyed riding his side by side with his best dog, Rugar, living every day to the fullest, and creating memories with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in New Sill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation for Byrl Russell will be from 12 noon Tuesday until the service at 2 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
