Billie Joe Stinson was born July 2, 1942, the son of Noah Talmadge Stinson and Lillie Fraley Stinson in Elliott County, Kentucky. Those who knew him would call him Joe. He left this world on February 4, 2024, after a significant hospital stay surrounded by family and love.

Joe is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Sue Kazee Stinson; they married on October 8, 1976. Joe and Peggy have one son, Zachary Seth Stinson of Morehead. Joe has two daughters, Sigrid Stinson Howard of Isonville and Stephanie Stinson Rose of Olive Hill; grandchildren, Dr. Joseph Bowling of Russell, Bethany RaeAnn Lyons of Sandy Hook, Danielle Janea Sipple of Georgetown, and Samuel Cole Howard of Isonville; four great grandsons, Jesse Lynn Lyons, Peter Joseph Bowling, Jude Edwin Bowling, and Joah David Sipple; and Joe Gray, not a biological son, but has been there for Joe, Peggy, and Zachary for many years.

He left Sandy Hook High School to serve his country in his senior year prior to graduation. He joined the U.S. Army in 1961. He was a former carpenter foreman and member of the Carpenters Local #200 of Columbus, Ohio, until his injury in 1984 that left him disabled.

Joe was a people person and always joking around.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns, and especially spending time with his family. Joe Stinson will be sadly missed by family, community and many friends.

Billie Joe was preceded in death by his oldest son, Lorne Joe Stinson.  He was also preceded in death by his father, mother, siblings, father and mother-in-law, and many other family members.
